WordPress provides you with various page and post settings in Dashboard. You can change the default URL link settings in WordPress dashboard > Settings > Permalink.

I suggest you change the URL link structure for a WordPress blog into Post name. Post name is an awesome link structure and SEO friendly and enhance your blog’s on- page SEO score.

Your blog post name should preferably be short and descriptive. It is always good to use the same keywords in the link as well as in your page or post title. Never use page name such as products.php or service.html as they are generic terms.

If your blog is about special recipe momo, then you can use the actual name in your file name such as special-chicken-momo.php

Do not use very long file names as search engines allow only 66 characters. You must separate the keywords with hyphens rather than underscores. You can prefer using Non – www in your site name which gives you more space in the permalink.

Google sees good filenames as follows:

If you use underscores in a filename, then Google sees it like which is not at all SEO friendly.

From SEO and on-page optimization point of view, URL sub-directory or category name hardly matters. So, keep the web page name short, simple and relevant to the page content.
